Kathy Moran was born in a small town in southern California, the oldest of eight children. She and her husband Jack were married 44 years, and had one beautiful daughter, Jennifer. “The light of my life,” Kathy says. She has three grandchildren – Brennan who is now in the Air Force, Cameron who is at the Air Force Academy and McKenna who is studying to become a nurse.
Kathy started working at the age of 17 and took college courses in business administration and accounting. She worked steadily in accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting and payroll. “There were no computers back then, so we did everything by hand,” she added.
In 1995, she was offered a job in Washington State in the development office of a foundation, overseeing fundraising and foundation requests and supporting the foundation board of 25.
Kathy moved into Cedar Lane in 2017. “Since my daughter lived in this area, I was able to be closer to her and still be independent,” she said. “I have made many good friends here and am pleased to serve as Treasurer of the Tenants’ Association.”
